Absolutely! We are all about prevention and always recommend controlling the cause. If acne is the cause of your hyperpigmentation, your initial course of action is to treat and control your acne concerns.

Additionally, we highly recommend adding sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or higher as a part of your skin regimen. When combating hyperpigmentation, direct exposure to the sun can worsen the appearance of dark spots.
How long will it take to fade dark spots and uneven skin tone?
Dark spots does not require treatment, however it is desired due to esthetics.
Without any treatment, dark spots typically fade away within 6-12 months. Deeper coloration can take years to fade on their own.
With that being said, there is no exact timeline on how quickly your dark spots will disappear even when paired with treatment. Hyperpigmentation can be be very stubborn and requires patience to treat.
How do I fade my dark spots?
We advise implementing a regimen of daily topical treatment with sunscreen protection at home. There is no quick fix for combating dark spots. It takes consistent, daily compliancy on your end to assist in the process.
Key note to remember, dark spots don't occur overnight. So you shouldn't expect fading the appearance to occur instantly either. Implementing patience, consistency, alongside topical treatment and reducing direct sun exposure will assist you with reaching your goals of fading your dark spots and uneven skin tone.
